Iran short ‘Red Wheat Fields’ to attend Red Dirt fest

Iran short ‘Red Wheat Fields’ is to go on screen at the Red Dirt Film Festival in the US.

Iranian short ‘Red Wheat Fields’ has been set to go on screen at the 7th edition of the Red Dirt Film Festival in the US.

Written and directed by Asadollah Bahreini, the short flick will be in competition at the Student-University section of the US event.

‘Red Wheat Fields’ narrates the story of a father and his son who live in a war-stricken village. The mother of this particular family has been murdered by the enemies.

One night a plane of the enemies crashes and falls near their village. The pilot’s parachute brings him to the village where the angry father and widower arrests him. Hearing some upsetting news about a native army base, the man decides to bury the pilot alive.

Benyamin Yazdani, Saeed Savari and Ali Khoshbin are among the cast members of the flick.

The short has already attended a number of international events, including the 18th International Student Film and Video Festival in China.

The latest edition of the Red Dirt Film Festival is slated for March 5-8, 2020.
